LEARN MUSIC PRODUCTION
GET HANDS-ON MUSIC MAKING EXPERIENCE IN THIS EXCITING ONE DAY COURSE THAT SPECIALISES IN MUSIC PRODUCTION

This is a fun, 8 hour introduction to music production, with a complete original demo song to take home at the end of the day. In a focused group of up to 4 people in the studio, you’ll collaborate on an original song while covering a basic yet functional understanding of the entire music making process.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN​

This fun and intuitive course covers music theory, music programming, recording and sound engineering principles related to creating music in a studio with a hands on approach and the added ability to go as deep as your enquiring mind may want to go.
You’ll learn the principles and skills used in all modern music genres, from house, techno and hip hop through to indie rock and beyond. You’ll follow a hands-on, detailed programme, starting with sourcing inspiration and conceiving a song idea, through to recording, engineering and exporting the completed song.

You’ll benefit from a mentoring session in a studio and learn from a producer who has worked with major labels on music for the likes of Black Coffee, Four Tet, Moonchild, Crystal Fighters, HVOB, Daedelus, Dj Maphorisa, Little Dragon and many more.

By the end of the course you will be able to:

Create your own composition using DAW software

Navigate Ableton Live

Record vocals and solo instruments

Apply EQ, compression, reverb and delay to your tracks

Apply basic mixing and mastering to your demos

WHO AM I?
I am Ryan Sullivan, head producer and engineer from Refine Audio. My experience includes working with some of the biggest artists, labels and brands in the world and was head engineer at Red Bull Studios for the past 7 years. I’ve produced music, developed courses, engineered, lectured and consulted for brands such as Ableton, Akai, Roland, JOOX, Pioneer DJ, Red Bull, SAE Institute, Technics DJ Mix Club, Toolroom, Universal Music and many more.
I am deeply passionate about music and technology and love to share my knowledge and skills with others through fun, focused educational workshops.

WHO IS THIS FOR?​

For beginner to intermediate music creatives.

Recommended for persons aged 16 and older.

No prior experience required, although advantageous if you can play an instrument, sing, rap or use any type of music making software.

ABOUT THE STUDIO
The workshop is conducted at Pirate Studios in Earlsfield, South West London, which contains industry standard studio equipment in a professional studio accommodating 5 people. Additional microphones, audio recorder, digital audio workstation, Elektron analog synthesizer and Elektron drum machine will be provided to spark creative ideas.
